Another passion ~ Knitting
I also love to knit. I guess I need something to do with my hands when I can't be with my torch.
I taught myself to knit so I would have a use for my buttons I make. Seemed logical at the time. ;)
I get most of my supplies at Knitting Today in Wolcottville, Indiana. If you ever want to meet there drop me a line.
I have also started a small free message board for my knitting friends from further away. Hope to see you there.
My latest is at the bottom of the page for now. :)
Baby Sock in Fixation Yarn Adult Sock without decrease. :) Lynn helped me see the error of my ways.
Also a quick shot of some of my stitch markers. A natural bond between my glass passion and knitting passion. ;)
I do sell stitch markers and bracelets. Drop me a line if interested.
Also, after realizing I have a hard time remembering K2tog rows from knit even rows I devised these:
Hanging naturally Knit even K2tog
If you are interested in how I make these, how I use them, or purchasing some, drop me a line.
I also make them sometimes on rigid wire without the Swarovski crystals.
Lately I've also been doing baby hats and baby mittens.
I've also done several felted purses. Scarves are always fun and so are hats. Drop me a line if you'd like to chat. :)
I'm also one step closer to my studio being complete with water and all. I've got a 1970's loveseat and a chair all set for knitting in the room next to my torch. Drop by any time.
New finished projects
These are sets done in Fixation. So far the moms tell me the socks stay on well.
I'll see if I get any feed back from the mom's who receive these.
To compare, the pattern was designed by Kraemer Yarn shop. I found it in a Google search. The specified yarn for this pattern is North Country Cotton. I have not yet found this yarn to try. I did find Bamboozle and was told it was about the same as Fixation. So, I thought if it wasn't maybe it would be similar to the North Country Cotton the pattern was made for originally. At any rate, here is my comparison picture. I have permission to post the existing pattern, but I have written for permission to post it for magic loop. I will wait to do so until I hear one way or the other.
Until then the pdf can be found here.
From what I can tell Bamboozle produces a bigger finished product and to my thinking it isn't very similar to Fixation.
I hope to find some other yarns to compare soon because the Fixation line seems to be lacking in little boy colors.
